Preparing for your baby’s sitter session involves several steps to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both the baby and the photographer. Here's a comprehensive guide:
Schedule the Session
- Timing: Schedule the session around the baby's happiest time of day, often after a nap and feeding. This is usually mid-morning.
Prepare Outfits
The photographer has plenty of outfits to use during the
session however if you wish to provide your outfits please keep the following in mind when choosing the outfit, select comfortable outfits that allow the baby to move freely.
We have a variety of options for outfits ready when the baby arrives, including different colours and styles
If you wish to take pictures with the baby please avoid busy patterns and print work, it's preferable to wear light colours such as cream, and white however if prefer wearing dark colours please wear solid colours with no writing such as a plain black shirt/top.
Please don’t forget to provide diapers (Nappy) and Wipes, Bring extra diapers and wipes for any quick changes.
Snacks and Milk
Have milk (breast milk/formula) and small, age-appropriate snacks to keep the baby content.
Toys: Bring a few favourite toys to capture baby’s attention
Grooming and Hygiene
Bathing: Bath the baby before the session to ensure they are clean and fresh.
Skin Care: Moisturise the baby's skin to avoid dryness.
Hair: Brush or gently style the baby's hair as desired.
Sleep and Feeding
Rest: Ensure the baby has had a good nap before the session to avoid crankiness.
Feeding: Feed the baby shortly before the shoot to keep them satisfied and happy.
Parental Presence
Stay close to the baby during the shoot to provide reassurance and comfort.
Smile and Play: Be ready to engage with the baby using sounds, toys, and playful motions to help the baby smile. Familiar Faces: Ensure the baby sees familiar faces during the session to maintain a sense of security.
